Pink

Watching pink was a an experience by itself. A must watch movie for every parent ,struck a chord with me and was not just entertainment but much more then that . I have never ever written so much about a movie that I watched !

1) The movie talked about the strong gender stereotypes we have in india specially in todays times. The role parents play in creating that image/perception . Our acceptance of these stereotypes starting at the time of birth whether its pink or blue.
2) The movie also reflects the dismayal awareness that we have about the legal procedures in India and that itself creates fear in our minds to even consider taking help. The corruption may demotivate us but I feel should not dishearten us from taking a legal recourse if the need be and this also stems from my personal experience .

The broad role that we all play as educators , as lawyers, as parents etc etc would be significant to reduce this bias and in driving awareness amongst the youth .The safety of woman in our country and the myths associated with what constitutes as good , bad or ugly behaviour is worth revisiting while we watch this movie . The questioning of pink vs blue stereotypes is more deep rooted then obvious, as seen in the movie .The actors have done a phenomenal job in this movie is what I felt .I guess I could go on endlessly about the movie but the small role we play as individuals working towards reducing this bias would go a long way

Chota Bheem ....

Flashback atleast 30 yrs back .... Well no Chota bheem and the dozen of commercial  goods tiffin boxes lunch boxes shirts watches etc ..... We have an Indian venture gaining so much popularity .

Rajiv chilaka would be giving all the Big  Bheems a new perspective, the original Bheem /Bhim may loose his appetite as Chota bheem is all set for appeasing the appetite of the young and restless

When we were small we used to be watching Mowgli and  hum the famous song on TV .No tiffens with impressions of Mowgli., no T shirts to Flaunt , just a flick .... and  i remember the song jungle jungle baat chali hain ........

Wondering if I flash back another 30 yrs back what would my Mothers s generation say...rather not get into that  cause they had grandma  telling them many divergent versions .So we had story telling not on TV and we had all chotus and motus on the ground playing and running around

Curiosity is getting the better of me and now need to catch up on Chota Bheem epsiode as my niece loves it ! ):)

Poem

Back in school one of the events that i particpated in was poem recitation competition and recited -OZYMANDIAS
"Met a Traveller from an antique land who said........".The recitation was over in less than two mnts and all i could rember principal telling us we need to recite it with more expressions ..
well i was more than relieved that recitation was over was one of my first and last attempts at poetry recitation !
The meaning of the poem i read today somehwere ....the might and majesty of the king do not last only great art endures ! Art in any form makes for lasting impressions!
